Questions and facts
Are the candles handmade?
Yes! Every single candle is handmade and hand-poured. We love craftsmanship and take these processes into our own hands. This means every candle is unique!
What raw materials are used for the candles?
We use a mixture of rapeseed and coconut wax for our candles, 100% purely vegetable and without additives, and our wicks are made of pure cotton.
This vegan wax mixture has a clean, slow burning behavior, hardly produces soot and offers a wonderful scent development.
The naturalness of the waxes is preceded by an equally natural texture. Sometimes the wax no longer seems smooth after it has cooled, but rather appears rougher; some taper candles can also drip.
Knowing that we use vegetable waxes that do not contain chemical additives or petroleum-based raw materials such as paraffin, we would like to bring the natural characteristics back into our awareness.
How long does a scented candle burn in the container?
Typically around 30-35 hours.
This assumes that the candle is burned properly. In other words, if you have internalized the small 1x1 of using candles, you can look forward to a clean and long burning behavior.
In short: trim the wick to a good 0.5 cm before each lighting, avoid drafts and movements, after each lighting let the candle burn at least until the wax on the surface has liquefied up to the edge of the container (pooling) and the Of course, never leave the candle burning unattended and for no longer than four hours at a time.
A detailed note is included with each candle.
What is the difference between stick candles and decorative candles?
Taper candles, also known as dinner candles, are rod-shaped and intended for everyday use. Be it as an atmospheric light at dinner, as a discreet light source when relaxing on the couch or as a savior in an emergency in the event of a power outage.
Decorative candles can be rod-shaped, round, square, large, small, etc. Of course, these candles can also be lit, although due to their artistic shapes they do not burn evenly and tend to drip. With a decorative candle, the focus is often on the decorative aspect. They are often displayed in candlesticks on a table or shelf, decorate console tables in the entrance area or perfectly decorate a festively decorated table. The pragmatists among us will light the candle one day, as the meaning and purpose of a candle, the collectors among us will regularly and lovingly dust it off and enjoy their decorative object.
How long does a stick candle burn?
Various factors play a role here, as taper candles react more quickly to changes in the environment, which can influence the burning behavior. Strong drafts or a crooked position in the candle holder can cause the candle to burn more strongly on one side, which can then lead to the candle dripping. This means it burns faster overall.
Depending on the size of the candle, you can expect up to eight hours.
